Florian as Niklas! Männerherzen - Men in the city, Homens da cidade, Corazones de hombres (2009) (2011).

Männerherzen, Men in the city (USA), Homens da cidade (Brazil), Corazones de hombres (Spain) was a huge success in Germany in 2009, which gave the film an international projection. With the international movie star Til Schweiger  (King Arthur, Inglourious Basterds) on the cast, the film also presents other talented german actors such as Chirstian Ulmen, Maxim Mehmet, Wotan Wike MöhringJustus von Dohnányi and Florian (This is where I "met" him, by the way). This comedy is about "men and their hearts", it shows how they deal with their relationships, it gives to both men and women a view from how men act when facing all kinds of situation involving love and self-knowledge. One is a shy guy trying to find a girlfriend, other is womenizer, there is the troubled man that ended up divorced and doesn't know how to manage this, there is the two good friends that are the opposite from each other - one has life all sorted (Niklas), while the other is still struggling to even find a job - and finally the pop star that despite all the fame needs afection. They all have their stories connected and as the scenes happen you spend a nice time laughing and living a bit of their "dramas".  "Dramas" that can be identify on real life, which usually men don't talk much about. Nothing compared on how women do it! Good to see the male's

Niklas, Männerherzen
 struggles with humor.

Florian as Niklas is charming - which man is not charming in suits, right?! So let's say Florian in suits is extra charming! Niklas is one of that men that you could easily find around Wall street, Canary Wharf or any big business center in the world. They all look sharp, are wealthy, and probably have life all sorted by 30s, like Niklas, but nothing is perfect, there is the "heart" drama, full of doubts and challenges. Thus, if you haven't watched it yet just do it, cause the sequence is out in less than 3 weeks and  promisses to bring more of it to Niklas and the others. "Männerherzen und die ganz, ganz grosse liebe" will be on theaters in Germany by September 15th. The movie was shot in Berlin last fall/winter (2010), the new events on these men's lives - kids (twins), sex, new/old love, career- will produce for sure more situations fun to watch. On build you can find out more about the movie - full article translated. Hopefully it will be soon released in the other countries too.
Niklas, Männerherzen und die ganz ganz grosse liebe
The official premiere for the movie will be held in Berlin on September 7th, next week, there is a promo for fans to win VIP tickets. Munich will probably have one too, to keep an eye on it make sure to check facebook, official website, and DO NOT forget to check floriandavidfitz-fans for news as well reports and pictures that will come from the fans attending the events. There will be also some new appearences on TV shows as part of the film promotion, first one will be September 10th where Florian and Til will be partners to compete in a Quiz - Rette die million, the prize for the winner team is an amount of money that will be donated to any good cause-institution of their will (translation - source: fdf). Next post will be an updated on all the news and reviews about the movie and premiere.

Florian's Munich.

Recently, Florian was in an article talking about his hometown, Munich, it's a nice questionnaire where you have the chance to know what he thinks about his city and points out his favorite spots. Before you find out his thoughts on his Munich, join me on this brief presentation of München/Munich.
 MUNICH
Munich is the 2nd most popular city in Germany, capital of Bavarian since 1503 its architecture is a mix of styles ranging from Baroque to Gothic, from neoclassical to postmodern. If you think you have never heard or didn't know much about Munich before Florian, you might be wrong. Munich is not only famous for its sightseeings, but also for its industry, football (soccer), culture and its influence can be noticed in different parts of the world.
To start with,  Schloss Neuschwanstein located in Füssen, Bavarian. The inspiration for Cinderella's castle, most of the girls, who once dreamed about being her knows that, but apart from the fantasy, the castle looks really amazing and definitely worth a visit in a life time. Then, Munich has BMW, FC Bayern Munich - Champions League winner, season 00/01  (if Robben wasn't in the squad I could cheer for them, sorry still bitter about that Brazil x Netherlands FIFAWC2010, footy fan can't help), I wonder if it's Florian's club..... as soon as I find out I'll let you know.  And then, of course, The Oktoberfest - Bavarian Beer Festival - (starts in the end of September ending at the beginning of October, this year it's from September 17th until October 3rd) lots of days of good beer, food, fun.

The influence of Munich, as I said before, can be noticed in some other places, here two pictures to ilustrate: one from Puerto Varas, city from South Chile, close to Patagonia, and the other one is from the 2nd biggest Oktoberfest in the world, according to the organizers, it's here in Brazil, 2hrs away from my place, it starts 3 days after the official one in Munich. You almost can't tell it isn't in German, right?! *Curious facts. But, unfortunately, in none of this places you can find the real bratwurst! hummm......yummy! I've never been to Munich, while living in Germany the farther I went south was Dresden, missed Munich. But these bratwurst can be appreciated everywhere in that country.

Bratwurst
yummy, yummy!

Right, so all of that is Munich, I mean, there is much more of course, but that was just an introduction for what will come. "Florian David Fitz: Mein München (My Munich)". The article is from last April posted in the  German site, http://www.sueddeutsche.de/
In the paper, Florian says that the "fancy/glamor" Munich doesn't attract him, he prefers the "simple" Munich, its parks, rivers, beer,  the smell of Steckerlfisch in the beer garden. That's why the sightseeings weren't mentioned before, Florian does that: Eisbach, English Garden, Nymphenburg Park, Isar river. He tells the readers what he likes and dislikes  most in Munich, what he thinks it's still missing in Munich. By the way, there are no translation for the answers for those questions, so you will definitely learn something new like I did, specially Dahoam, means home, simple as that, but it says all. It's a very nice reading where you can understand a bit more of  Florian based on his answers to the questionnaire and see how nice those places are. Original article Full article translated
Check the pictures and links for your virtual sightseeing around Munich. If you are a lucky one to be in Europe in the next month, you have 3 reasons to visit Munich: the sightseeings, Oktoberfest and Männerherzen 2 (next post); the sequence for Florian's first blockbuster will be on the cinemas by next week in Germany, so you might even have a chance to bump into Florian hanging out in the Munich quarters. I'm not a lucky one this time, so I have definitely put Munich on my "places I must visit" list.

English Garden

Isar River

While I was searching for Eisbach, as soon as I saw the pictures, the place looked familiar to me, then I remembered from where, Jason Mraz' video. The video shows Jason in Munich and Amsterdam, you clearly see the Eisbach and the English Garden, where he is biking. Therefore, I finish this post with the video, it's a good soundtrack for a trip around Munich. Enjoy it!

Florian international, after France, Spain, Europe, he will be soon landing in Brazil!

Doctor's Diary will be soon broadcasted in Brazil. The serie's royalties were sold to a cable channel, Globosat, but still no news on when it's gonna happen. Meanwhile, The representation of Germany in Brazil has published an article about Florian winning the German Film award. The article discuss the huge success that Florian has achieved with his film "Vicent will meer/Vicent wants sea" by winning the most prestigious awards, Best film and Best actor. It is also pointed his work as Dr. Meier on Doctor's Diary TV serie, subject for further posts, definitely on of his great roles. Nearly the end of the paper (in bold), Florian is described as "a modest person, with little interest in the glitz and glamor of the movie world." True or false?! True to me, he sounds indeed like a guy down to earth, one more reason to follow his steps.

Prêmio do Cinema: o favorito do público é o vencedor
